Don't try. For one thing triplets are harder to carry to term and can therefore end up with the health problems that come along with being born early. And IVF is for people who have trouble conceiving, and if you are not it's not good to subject your body to the shots, treatments, harvesting, etc. that goes along with IVF. Just let nature take it's course and be happy with any strong healthy babies you might have. And be thankful that you can have children, some people out there struggle, even with IVF. Good Luck to you.

You can't just have triplets because you want them. There is NO WAY to manufacture identical triplets because this is a natural phenomenon where the egg splits when it's multiplying. As for non-identical triplets.. This would need 3 eggs to all be fertilised and implant. There are fertility drugs that cause your body to produce more eggs thus increasing the chances of a multiply pregnancy, or IVF they could insert 3 x fertilised eggs and hope they all implant (although they normally only do 2).

BUT before even thinking this - do some research - triplet pregnancies are plagued with more problems because humans are not made to carry 3 babies - the extra pressure on you could be medically dangerous. The babies are normally born prematurely and have all of the problems associated with this (low birth weight, increased immune probs etc). You also have the struggle of caring for 3 babies - 1 is hard work - but 3??? You can't even comfort them all at the same time - and you can bet they'll all want feeding at the same time, sleep at diff times etc - it would be never ending.

why do you want triplets?

The only way you can really improve your chances is with IVF, but the more you find out about the risks of multiple births, the less you will want one. It's great when the the mother and babies are all healthy, but no-one wants to talk about the cases when things go wrong. We're simply not designed to carry more than one at once. I personally know someone whose twin died at birth, and I also know a couple who had twins, but one died the day it was born, and the other is severely handicapped and unlikely to live till adulthood. Some countries now ban implanting more than one embryo at once to stop these problems.

If you do end up pregnant with triplets, then I wish you all the best, but you shouldn't underestimate the problems.

It is possible to choose the sex of your baby but I don't think it's 100% accurate plus the ethics of it are a bit up in the air at the moment. The onlly people I've known to have had triplets naturally is by luck. Or there's fertility drugs that release more of your egs per month but again your doctor would need to put you on those and I doubt he would if you can have kids the natural way.

Unless your family has a genetic disposition to multiple births, I would think it extremely unlikely you would conceive triplets naturally. I also believe that it is currently illegal to choose the sex of your baby in this country. If you want triplets THAT much (and I would seriously think about why you want them, and even discuss this with your Dr) then you would probably have to go for private IVF. I doubt very much that you would get this on the NHS if you do not have a problem conceiving.

Please think this through seriously. Having triplets is not something to take lightly.

You're out of luck I'm afraid - I just called 'Babies r us' and you know what ?? They're completely out of stock of Tripletts and no idea when any more are due in !!!!! Seriously, dont be silly - babies are NOT like mail order items that you can order the amount you want, what sex, size or colour. Unfortunately, like the rest of us you'll just have to be patient and have what god gives you. Babies are little miracles - not an accessory you can choose beforehand.

Have you gone crazy!! Surprisingly though one in every 535 births is triplets or more, however, one in 32 are twins. A majority of triplets are born to IVF parents. Not very often are they conceived naturally. If there is a history of triplets in the family then it would increase the likelihood but other than that i think you will be extrememly lucky. Apparently for natural conceiveing the likelihood is higher in african americans than in hispanic or asian families. Also apparently the older you are the higher your likelihood of having multible birth (or is this due to older mums having IVF??). Good Luck

Believe me, you don't want to have triplets. They simply don't have sufficient space or nutrition in the womb, and many suffer health problems for the rest of their lives as a result.

Even if you could find an IVF clinic which would put back 3 embryos - which is illegal in the UK if you're under 40 - you would (thankfully) be very unlikely to have triplets as a result.

you can't just choose to have triplets - shouldn't you have some idea about pregnancy and stuff seeing you already have a child? You can only choose the sex of your baby for extreme medical reasons ie if females are prone to genetic conditions you could choose to have male or vice versa - but i don't think it's practised everywhere coz it's fairly recent development
