Dot and dab is the name giving to put the plasterboards on the wall. Its like a bonding mix. They are not winding you up
Bought from B and Q, wickes etc
It is named so as that is exactly how they apply it to the board...its dotted and dabbed

No they're not winding you up. It's a technique/glue for fixing plaster board to new or old walls. Any builders merchant or good DIY store will supply it. Dot and Dab Mix is the correct term. Now if they ask you to go and buy a metric hammer, watch out!

It's not a wind up: it's plaster board adhesive.
Tell the merchant what wall you are using on - eg unpainted brick; painted brick; pastered wall; block etc etc, although most are universal
see how they "dot & dab" the adhesive at www.teachmediy.co.uk/media/new_drylining2.swf

Dot and dab, my darling is not a wind up! If your having your walls drylined, dot and dab is the stuff they stick it up with.
Wicks is probably your best bet!

I've heard of this, it was mentioned by a builder that came to my house. I've no idea what it was but they did mention it for sticking plasterboard to my walls before they screwed them to it for more support.
