Because if they didn't you would be the first to complain .A real supporter will support a team good or bad . would you like England to not play any more football International or world cup in reality of course you would,nt. By the way are you a Journalist/ .You know and I can tell you England. Can only go one way up. They cannot go any further than rock bottom ,When the pitch plays part in the game by scoring a goal for the opposition. One has to write that game off .There Is always another game England Will come good hang on you see never write them off .Terry Vegetables will sort it he forgot his chewing gum that's all and his complexion ain't red enough with that well known scotty Maclaren

Well to be honest if you go down that road then you have to ask why anyone bothers cause there are maybe 5 teams in the world that are really top but otherwise. Why does Austria bother? They have to host EURO 2008 in other to be able to play in a EURO again.
Its just there is football, there are the teams and there are times when its just not working out. Its easy to support someone when they win 5-1 against Germany but it is hard to stand behind them when they loose 2-0 agains Croatia.
World Cup was not brilliant, in order to get better you have to try new things, when you try new things you will make mistakes at first but it can turn out to be for the best. Maybe its just faith that the team and supporters need.

Look at Pandora's and madnessco's posts!
Madness reckons England are going through a purple patch!
This is also as funny as the own goal.
Pandora, the site's resident nutter claims there is 'unbroken support'.
A look at many of the posts here reveals many 'fans' to be on everyone's back from the team, manager and even the newspapers.
What great supporters.
There is a mass tantrum occurring.
It's very funny you know!

Simple... we are not known as a nation of quitters, but a nation that will get there in the end. With tenacity, humility, hard work and unbroken support from the fans. And above all good leadership we shall return with pride. We've never been known to desert a sinking ship even though the rats may have.

We will still qualify like we have for every tournament after missing out on USA 94.
We're going through a purple patch, we don't have another qualifier till next March, time for people to regain their form and for people to come back from injury and maybe a few youngsters bursting through.
We will win the World Cup in my lifetime, i'm sure of that and i'll support, cheer, shout and be distraught and everything else till we do. But i'll still watch every game and watch it like it is the most important thing in the world.
