I found this little poll on a baby centre site

Unfortunately, 49% thought the methods didn't work.

I can't believe some of the advice you are getting. Do NOT take Laxatives, that's dangerous to you and your baby. Do not go for a ride on a very bumpy road, the would be painful and uncomfortable. Just relax, read a book, go for some walks, and think about your baby and the wonder that you are about to experience. Nature usually knows what's best, your labor will start when it's supposed to. Good Luck.

Raspberry leaf tea is dangerous in the early stages of pregnancy but will help bring on contractions later on. Its not intercourse per se that induces labour but orgasm. Also, the sucking of the nipples can also bring on labour so its worth a try. I was 3 weeks over due with my daughter and felt like a barrell on legs and the nipple thing and orgasm worked for me in the end

Drink a small bottle of castor oil. I did it and so have countless women in my family. It is harmless. My son was born that night. Don't mix it with orange juice, but you will want to drink the juice right after because its kinda nasty! lol. I guess the reason people say don't take it is because it makes you poop a lot. I don't recommend taking it if you are not dilated. I don't see why pooping a lot is a big deal, some hospitals still give enemas to mothers to make them poop before birth. This saves time! lol

Rasberry leaf tea and going for walks are the best and safest way. Having sex can work as it produces oxytocin, the hormone that brings on labour. Do keep in mind that if anything happens, like your waters break, and you have not gone into labour do not have sex, as the possibility of infection increases after you waters break. Best of luck!

Take a ride on a bumpy road. A rough set of rail road tracks started my wife in labor with our daughter.
