Isn't the worse situation when a manager can't make up their mind??? Hard to make a decision, need long time to give decision.... a lots of opportunity gone, cost incurred for everthing....time, labor, bla...bla... i just have no ideas when facing this type of leader. They are hired with the qualification granted. Just thinking maybe there any ideas i can get on this to let me understand more the rational ;)....

I'm a manager, and i have worked my way up from the bottom.

a lot of decision making comes to experience, past mistakes and listening and understanding.

a lot of young managers, fresh from university make mistakes simply because of lack of experience and arrogance

From 26 years of work experience I have seen many different styles of management. Some are very good, but the ones that are indecisive usually are tied up in red type, the office political, and the fact that they are not going to let non-management have a say.
You are trying to put logic to the illogical. A college degree does not make someone qualified nor does it make them a leader. In fact, a college degree can mean book knowledge and not much more especially when that person gives into the corporate mental - sarcasm - rationality is not a variable. It is all a Game and the other management personnel will not punish their fellow manager for wasteful ways.
Welcome to the insanity. The answer - don't assume the manager's qualifications mean anything other than they learned how to play the psycho game of those at the top. And they take care of their own, right or wrong, they take care of their own.

Sometimes it's best if you let things play out rather than make a quick decision you are forced to follow. Often times there are things going on with a company that only people at your manager's level and above are privy to that you are not. There also is not always cost involved and if there is, can be be cost avoidance rather than gained capital.

If it drives you nuts the best that you can do is get all the facts, present your case and ask why they are not taking action on the situation, which way they are leaning, or why is there a delay.

Hope this helps!

may b u shld consider doin that job for a while..... then u know, that all ppl dont think the same way in a given situation.....

some ppl can figure out the most complex of problems and miss out on the easiest of solutions.... so jus coz sum1 is a manager doesnt mean that he is an expert in every situation....

instead of facing or lookin up to that kinda leader, it'd do best to step up and help if u think u can think of a solution.....
