The data is bogus. So your correlation is bogus.
How many Muslim's need to die at the hands of other Muslim's before they stop their religious hatred of their brothers? How many have died over the last hundred years because they were not Shite or Sunni or Kurd?
Bush did not bring this violence to Iraq. It will not end when the Army leaves. Violence in the name of God is the true evil here.

Do you folks understand the margin or error? Basically it means magic number could be off by a certain amount....so their own math doesn't really help all that much...they could be off by over 900,000 under or even 900,000 over making the 650,000 completely mute.... Actually surprised that such a reputable group would publish such rubbish then again propaganda is the new norm.
"We estimate that as of July, 2006, there have been
654 965 (392 979–942 636) excess Iraqi deaths as a consequence of the war, which corresponds to 2·5% of the
population in the study area. Of post-invasion deaths, 601 027 (426 369–793 663) were due to violence, the most
common cause being gunfire."

I WAS a supporter for the war. I'm seeing things a little differently now. I still believe Saddam is an evil man & I believe before the soldiers come home, he needs to be dead to make certain he doesn't bull____ himself back into power again. However, after seeing the #'s for dead & injured (both American & Iraqi),& the turmoil the country is still in, I'm afraid I was wrong in the beginning. The one thing to remember though, is that many of the Iraqi deaths were at there own hands.
655,000? I hope liberating these peoples' country ....Wow...I really don't know what to say.....

Who is responsible for the secterian fighting? The U.S. cannot be blamed for all of those deaths.
I wish we could leave today... But we can't, for several reasons:
1. Civil war would break out immediately, resulting in far more casualities.
2. The warlord with the biggest guns would overthrow the presently feeble government, and declare himself President.
3. Said warlord would be in control of Iraq's oil reserves.
4. Said warlord would make the Middle East more unstable.
5. We would likely have to go back again to take care of said warlord, and start this all over again.
6. All of the lives, money, and progress we have made would have been in vain.
7. The greatest act of cruelty would be leaving the Iraqis to fin for themselves in its current state.
8. The United States would never be trusted again to finish what they start.
9. This would be the single biggest foreign policy blunder in U.S. history--far greater than invading Iraq in the first place.
For the record, I'm not a war supporter... But, we are too far into this to turn back now.

Most of the papers peers stated that the information was flawed, unreliable, and gathered thru untested and unscientific data. Tell the Shiites and the Sunnis to stop killing each other, and it will slow dramaticly. Also tell the Islamic Militants from Iran, Syria, Saudia Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt and Afganistan to stop killing every Iraqi that wants a democrtic style government and the killing will stop. What they are doing to each other would be like the Catholics and Protestents killing each other in America.

It wouldn't be so bad but the war was started based on a lie and the bad part of it is people are getting rich off of the decision to go to war and all the lost souls that have been murdered by the decision. George Bush should have to stand trial for his crimes against the Iraqi people, his crimes against the American people and his crimes against humanity, nobody should profit from a war based on a lie.

To not support our 18 to 25 to 35 year old troops in Iraq is a disgrace on any Americans part... it simply does not matter anymore how they got there, it does however matter that they are there and that they need our whole hearted support... The Iraqi Death have been going on for more years than most of us have been alive and will continue to do so as long as radical Islamic views and jihad are the accepted way of life.. Not to mention Dictatorial representation of its peoples

2,398,343 Americans died last year alone If you take a three year count you will find that nearly the exact number you state 7.3 is our regular death rate. Don't take my word for it do a search on the number of deaths in the U.S. and you will find I am correct.
650,000 sounds like a huge number but it simply is not, especially in war.

This war has assured us no greater peace, simply because they have no weapons of mass distruction. come one people, you'd think they would give up that excuse when they didnt find any 3 years ago...Killing people is wrong, for any reason. You cannot gain peace through violence. Evil is the lack of empathy. There is no empathy in a war. make sense...maybe to you, but to a republican...i am sure it wouldnt.
