It seems that most peoples are going with b) Music. But think about this,, the music is good but the singer is so bad that he can't even go with that music and the actor is in your HATE list. Will you still go with Music....

I'm not sure I understood this question. The most important part for me about music must be the talent of the singer, how good their voice is, if they can sing live, a recognizable voice.

Not the music because I like most music, so anything goes to me. Any genre has some good.

The lyrics aren't the most important either because no one but myself can write lyrics that I can associate with most.

So, I choose A) Singer

I'd have to vote for songwriting. I guess that's music, but the words and the song structure are important too. If you have an excellently written song, it gives a performer a chance to create something great (like Jazz singers performing the classics) but if it's a terrible song to begin with, even a great singer, or a great performer, won't be able to do anything with it. Even terrible bands can do a listenable version of Bob Dylan's "Knockin On Heaven's Door" because it's so well written.

i would like to believe my fellow answerers when they say music, but i have noticed people get sucked into songs that are horrible just because the singer/lrics, for instance do you think the pop stars such as jessica simpson, and such would a third as popular if people really were listening for the music... by i should take it one step farther i believe the most important part of music(metal in my case) is the guitar play, it can make or break a song for me
