I would have to say Yahoo. MSN is kind of big, but, I don't remember it being as big as Yahoo in 99. I always remember Yahoo being big, and Altavista being close. I think Webcrawler was a bit on the rise before it just dissapeared of the map.

Lots of search engines took turns being first -- Netscape, AltaVista, Yahoo, now Google, soon it will be Ask.com. MSN never has been and never will be first.

The very best search engine ever was AllTheWeb.com, until Yahoo bought it and stripped it of all its great advanced search options. Dumbest thing Yahoo ever did.
