I need to visit South Africa urgently on the 23rd of Oct. I need a visa since I am an Indian national working in the UK. The helpline at the consulate says the first appointment is available only on 7 Nov.

Is there any way to get a fast track appointment ?
Can the application be submitted in the post ?

You need to go to the embassy and explain your situation. If it is really an emergency they will assist you. Good luck.

I'm with Jorge on this one.
The SA embassy is in London at Trafalgar Square. The consulate is walking distance from there, but I cant remember the street address. Go there early, before 12 noon.
You might be able to get some sort of emergency visa.
