How soon we forget. World war 2 officially ended in Germany in 1945. But the fighting didn't end until when? 1954!!!! Why?? Because of a Nazi Insurgency still raging. It wasnt until after the day to day Governing was turned back to the German people and they elected the first post war Chancelor that the fighting tapered off and stopped. It will take a long time in Iraq too. These things don't just resolve themselves overnight.
