It can be done on a rigorous SCHEDULE. What I mean is, you need to create a schedule for your days and week.
1) First you have to find out how many hours will be devoted to college. When are your class days? M-W-F or T-Th? If you have say, 15 units (thats 15 hrs in the classroo per week), you need to add at least 10-15 hrs for homework and reading. So, that means, your study hour load is a total of 25 to 30 hrs PER WEEK.

2) Plan how many hours a day you must devote to the care of your son... I mean just quality time with him: talking, playing, feeding, bathing, bedtime.

3) You have to remember that you need to set aside at least 1 hour per day to cook. If I were you, I would pre-cook at least 3 dinners on Saturday or Sunday in case you don't have time to cook on certain weekdays.

4) Clean the house, do the laundry and shop for food only in the weekend.

This is what I did when I went back to school while holding a job.

I am a single Dad, i have two sons 12 and 6 that live with me.
I take care of the house and all the domestic jobs, i work as a volunteer with vulnerable children part time, i work part time to make ends meet, i am also in the middle of a full time law degree and achieved the highest overall mark last year out of 170 students.
How can you do it? the same way everyone else does!
application of effort--determination--desire, and most importantly TIME MANAGEMENT.

Once the house is clean and tidy you should only need to spend an hour redoing what’s been undone make your son pick up after himself and your halfway there Hoover every other day and don’t let the house get overly messy cos that’s when it takes a long time.

Sorry dear, unless you want a dirty house you will have to stay awake a little bit longer and sleep a little less. Do the noisy chores such as washing and vacuuming during daylight and when your son goes to bed do the quiet chores like ironing. Well done to you for going to college.

Good music playing and setting a time limit on how much to do starting with the big priorities .
A surface clean is good to start off with all items for upstairs go into hall to be brought on in one or two trips .
Deep clean is more time consuming.
If lack of time is your problem keep living room and kitchen tidy and stairs and bathroom.
The rooms visitors will only see .your son is old enough to help with bits . maybe when its after dinner show him how to wash dishes as you clean the worktops.and he should be tidying his room and all you have to do is do some finishing touches in his room.

whenever you have some free time do a little bit like put the washing or clean the bath - first thing in the morning is usually the most productive time for me
and let your son help out and do his own room - he is old enough now.

I like what Nutty girl says - it really is all about getting into a routine. Once the house is clear of clutter its easier to stay on top of stuff and a little each day should do it.

The same way us single mums, who also work, manage. Do it when the kids are in bed. Or whenever you have any free time. As long as the basics are done, its not the end of the world if its not all done.

Just do a little each day, and get your son to help you out, he is old enough now. Get him to help you in return for his pocket money, make him see you have to work to earn money and realise how hard it is for you having to do it all yourself!!
