I agree, this Shmuck had millions of dollars. He had a wife and kid. What the hell was he doing flying an aircraft at low altitude in restricted airspace, 5 years after the worst avaition accident in history. It would have been tragic if any innocents had been killed because of his reckless attitude!

Stired up a can of worms here haven't I? Why do you American people protect these over hyped celebs so much, what have they ever done for you? If it was your appartment this nutter flew into and trashed, you wouldn't be singing his praises so much would you?

its kinda funny how americans get their panties in a bunch about a rich *** hole killing himself. i could never understand why these rich guys fly themselves around, they got enough money to pay someone to do it, then they can stick to snorting coke.
i don't think this question is in bad taste, it is a Vlid question, just that americans can not take criticism, its ok to dish it out (princess Diana) but the big *** cry babies can't take it back.

You're right. We should leave the "flying an aircraft into a building" to the professionals. I understand that the Saudi Arabians are suing for copywrite infringement.

The fact is, ANYONE, celebrity or not, flying a personal aircraft into a 50 story building in NYC would get a LOT of news attention.

By the way... you also are insultingly off base (pardon the pun) on your assessment of Sept. 11, 2001. It was not an ACCIDENT as you call it. It was the worst aviation INCIDENT, it was on NO level an accident.

Yes, you can look down at people that worship at the Cult of Personality. But that, my friend is NOT a uniquely American trait.

I am surprised you were shocked at stirring up a hornet's nest. Are you truly that ignorant?

Do you really think the wording of your question would not affect some people deeply? Whether it be your callous dismissal of a human beings life. Or the attempted comedic linking of one of the worst days in American history and this event.

You seem to know a lot more about this accident then anyone else. How is that since you're not even living in America??? You've passed yourself off as judge and jury, why is that??? Why shouldn't Cory Lidle do the things in life that make him happy? You have no right to make comments like that. As far as the "accident" of five years ago, that wasn't an accident, that was murder!!! Instead of spitting your poison why don't you say a prayer for all those that lost their lives.

It not like your football players get drunk and drive and crash into building or maybe the plane they are flying in crashes and they have to eat each other, or other problems I suppose you have never had an accident. I’ve actually looked you up and found that you got drunk one night hired a male prostitute and drove into a school bus for the blind dam sorry to hear about that maybe you shouldn’t be throwing stones at glass houses.

You are just one of a number of people spewing classless, tasteless remarks about a professional ballplayer losing his life in a tragic accident. What did he do to deserve such treatment? Is it because he happens to play for the Yankees? For the Evil Empire? What is the reason for all this garbage? I thought I'd seen the lowest form of classlessness before all of this happened, but I guess I was wrong.

This was a tragic accident. To criticize him for what he does in the off season less than 24 hours after his death is in poor taste.

What's your problem with allowing this guy to follow his dream of flying? It's safer than driving, but then you'd probably be jealous because he has "too nice" of a car, wouldn't you.

... sure and crock hunters shouldn't surf, chefs shouldn't wear tennis shoes, football players shouldn't go to war, shouldn't bring attention to children who are different, hockey players shouldn't have a designated limo driver and grandma shouldn't cross the street in a raindeer stampeed!

Flying okay, but not crashing into buildings.

I am no Yankee fan by any means. But this question is unexcuseable.
Did anyone ever think of mechanical failure? Maybe, just maybe it wasnt his fault at all.
