I think you have made one too many trips to Amsterdam "coffee shops", put the drugs down, it's messing up your brain.
One reason you have such a diverse dialect in your area is because of all the different languages spoken within a thousand miles, unlike here in the USA.

American English has a lot dialects and varieties, from the deep south accents, to the midlands of the lower Midwest, to the Appalachia accents in West Virgina and Eastern Ohio, and American English has a lot dialects. Languages adjust with time, but in hundreds America will still speak English, but Spanish and English in Mexico and the America will converge with syntax and vocabulary where people will understand each other in different languages. It common in Scandinavia for Swedish to understand a person speaking Norwegian, but that where Mexican Spanish, and American English are heading.

I don't see why the Americans really don't adapt to Hispanic or Spanish language.. all it's neighbours ..central and south Americans are or relating to Spanish speaking people or their culture.. especially south America ..since
US of A just started in some areas to put a little culture behind them which is mainly adapted from Spanish culture ..why not learn the language and make it their own
..it will save a hell of a lot of miss understanding with in and among it's neighbours..
I love America and American people ..on day i like to visit U S of A ....

If you want to live in the USA, you should learn to speak english. I could give a shlt if some foreigner is offended because I cannot communicate with him. In my line of work, I come across quite a few people who can barely speak english, I don't even try to understand them. My country, my language, learn it or STFU.

for me,america is a country.and american are the people living in that country. however, they speak english, quite because almost all of the countries considered it as second language, wherein it is their primary language....
i dont know the fact behind it, but may be, american language and english language are the same (in meaning)....

we already speak multiple dialects of English in America. I don't mind Spanish influence, but all citizens should have to learn English. period.

you are not serious! you people would not make it if you had to use the metric system like the rest of the world. i think an american language would be out of the question. besides, why would you change to american when anywhere you go in the world you will find english speakers?

We already have a language which is English.
They should learn english before they are citizens here just like all the immigrants before them.
I don't care if they are offended.
