i dont know what i did but theres just no sound in im'ing anymore

I assume you are talking about Yahoo IM. Go to Messenger>preferences > alerts & sounds and check if everything is set correctly there. If everything is correctly set up there then you have either a software problem or a hardware problem. Check if the speakers are connected. If the power switch is on and your speakers seem to be working. See if you can play any other sound file and hear it. If you cant hear it then it could be a problem with the software settings. Is the volume turned up on the speakers? Is the volume turned up on the PC speaker controls? Go to Control Panel > Sounds and Audio to check. If all these are working then you have either got a problem with the software driver or with the sound card itself. If you know about the sound card and have its driver software try reinstalling it. Otherwise get it professionally checked.

You should reinstall the yahoo messenger, it definatly works....
