If you had bothered to paddle through the internet, you would have come across Canoe England (a division of the British Canoe Union), which has a website (http://www.canoe-england.org.uk/canoeeng/canoeeng-standardtemplate1.aspx) which lists the following clubs operating in Sussex. Unfortunately, you didn't specify where exactly - and since 1974 Sussex has been two counties, West Sussex & East Sussex. So only you will know which is your nearest.
