What's the difference with any other business around? There are lots of business transactions people don't agree with for moral or religious beliefs, but aren't illegal ( like alcohol or strip joints).
Why prostitution? Two consenting adults no?

I live in Canada, and the last time I checked, prostitution is Illegal. Hell, me and my friend almost got in **** by the cops just for whistling at some hot girls, who just happened to be prostitutes. Got pulled over, and questioned and ID. I think it can be taxed if you give them a safe place to work. Eg. A Brothel.

I don't know why it's Illegal, shouldn't be. People are still going to do it, just like drugs, so why not legalize it and tax them. I think the part that might make it illegal is the fact that some girls get kidnapped and forced into it, and they aren't always consenting, but have no choice. And in lot's of cases, little kids are put on the street by messed up people.

Second, the hell with what any major religion thinks about it, seperate Religion from State. A country or province/state's laws should have nothing to do with religion. Not everybody is from the same religion, and shouldn't be forced to follow a law, because it's not right by some religion.

First of all, laws against prostitution are state laws. Nevada, for example, has long since legalized the profession, and it flourishes nicely. The state does indeed tax it, the state regulates it for health and hygiene, and protects the women in the same way it protects employees of any other enterprise.

The rest of the states, and by states I mean the voting public, still see prostitution as a perpetuation of original sin and there ain't a swingin' d!(& poitician on the hill who'll risk his neck on the issue. Apparently there's no consideration given to the fact that pimps haunt the bus depots looking for girls as young as 13 and 14 to step off the coach with tears in her eyes that he can charm and coerce, shoot full of drugs and prop up on a street corner, slap around and abuse till they wind up so diseased and/or strungout that they're no longer quite human, let alone servicible, and he drops 'em off at the doorstep of DHS, if they're lucky. No, it's hardly mentioned if the hookers stay in shaddy parts of town and do it in ally ways and only spread STDs to a restricted clientel. No matter that legalization would clean that up, because it would also make it visible.

We just haven't come that far yet. We're just not quite that mature.

I think that if the government finds a way to make more money off of it, it will no longer be illegal. I think its illegal because they haven't so far figured how to...however in a lot of places it is legal.

The government hasn't figured the tax ramifications.

If these ppl want to sell their bodies for whatever reason they deem necessary, then I say let them. They're the ones that will have to answer for it when the time comes.

It isn't in Canada. Not technically, anyway.

Or in Holland. And some other places.
