Freud and one of his close companions were both heavily into the occult. How do you think this steered the art of psychology?
(And is that why people are so messed up now - after believing their world-view for so long?)

I guess it might have had some influence, but the social sciences is a very broad community and the profession is much more steered by what is found to be useful by the recipients of such services. I don't think it had a great influence.

People are messed up because of greed plain and simple.

True Freud was a Fraud, and the worse part of it is that a lot of people thought that he was brilliant.

Freudian psychology is not adhered to. They threw out the eerie.
People are messed up because the world is in turmoil and there is no where to escape that.

i think people would be less messed up if they adopted some of Freuds theories and it was actually taught in public high schools.
