Thanks I was getting a bit worried myself over the wife's beard being longer than mine, but as you lot explained there is a treatment. At least she won't be needing to borrow my razor anymore.

Excess testosterone. Mind you, in many countries, such as in Southern Europe and Middle East etc, it is not unusual to see hairier women. Hairy is a relative term.
You could increase Your estrogen intake via contreceptive pill, have laser hair removal, (although hormonal hair will grow back, I understand).
None of these guarantees success, however, and nor should you avoid seeing a doctor if need be, they can give you better advice.

Hope this helps

Imbalance in the hormones. all of us are part man, part woman, but usually one part dominates the other.

Hirsutism can be eliminated by careful breeding. In the event that a hairy one slips through the net, various techniques such as shaving, waxing and electrolysis can be applied to provide relief, ranging from partial and temporary, to permanent.

It's both hormonal and heredity causes it because often hormonal imbalances are genetic. If you're healthy, and feeling healthy, than there's no need to start balancing your hormones artificially -- just pop down to your nearest salon and have a consultation with the beauty consultant, who will use electrolysis to kill the hair follicles at the root. It's painless, although your purse might feel a slight pinch. :)

it's simply due to a hormonal imbalance. this can easily be treated by visiting a GP and they will give you something to set it straight. To get rid of excessive or unwanted hair try:

Shaving (real quick)
Waxing (if you got more time)
Laser treatment (if you got more time and money)

hope that helps! :-)
