I've seen a symbol on bumper stickers and so forth. The symbol is a blue square with two horizontal yellow bars. My guess is that the yellow bars are an "equals" sign, and that the sticker is making a statement about equality. Apparently it has something to do with gay pride as well. Am I correct in my interpretation or way off? Where did this symbol come from and what do the colors mean?

It is the symbol of the HRC...HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN in Washington, D.C. Gay rights are a big focus, but they promote equality for all, in general.
