In physiology, a smile is a facial expression formed by flexing muscles most notably near both ends of the mouth, but also around the eyes. Among humans, it is customarily an expression of pleasure or amusement, but can also be an involuntary expression of anxiety, in which case it can be known as a grimace. There is much evidence that smiling is a normal reaction to certain stimuli and occurs regardless of culture. Happiness most often causes the smile to occur, though. Many studies indicate that smiling is an innate reaction, as children blind from birth, and even human fetuses smile; however feral children generally do not smile, perhaps lending evidence to the contrary, perhaps indicating the profound psychological disturbance that results in a member of a social species brought up with no elders or peers. Among animals, the exposure of teeth, which may bear a resemblance to a smile, are often used as a threat - known as a snarl - or a sign of submission.
Smiling not only changes a facial expression, but can also make the brain produce endorphins which reduce physical and emotional pain, and give a greater sense of well-being

Well I'm smiling right now because hold on I'm going to ramble on and on now I just read a story about this guy who said his most embarrassing moment was when he thought he was alone and farted really loud and long, but while he was doing that a lady came from behind him.He said that she looked at him in disgust and tried to hold back the laughter but couldn't she walked away giggling. But any way that's why I'm smiling really I'm laughing so hard that I'm starting to cry.

A smile is contagious. Do this experiment, smile at someone and see how it mirrors on his/her face.
A smile is the fastest way of applying 'makeup'!! It covers any bare face and makes any face look better.
Why do people smile? Well, why do people cry? It is a natural response to emotion...

Sometime because they are happy, sometimes because they are simply saving or putting on a face. Or if the hear a joke, that they don't find funny enough to laugh at but find amusing anyway.
Sometimes to hide behind depression, loads of reasons

I smile because I'm happy, amused, satisfied, silly. One of my favorite sayings, "I am not fully dressed until I adorn myself with a smile".
Smiles are beautiful and much more appealing than frowning...
