Isn't it going the other way around and American society ruining people and leading them down the fat road?
It was the sheer abundance of the society, and the fact that junk food is cheap while a more balanced diet is expensive and harder to maintain, not to mention the fact that gyms and sports and coach are expensive enough to be a status symbol that led the poor of Americ to fat.
Leaving them there, even more disenfranchised than they already are and excluding them from some aspects of social and public life would be... evil

You are an arrogant jackass! At some point in your pathetic life you might just become one of those fat people. Maybe after giving birth your body’s metabolisms changes and you have a hard time losing weight or your thyroid changes and you start to put the pounds on because of health issues. Not every person that’s fat wishes to become that way, many have health problems but it does not make them bad people. And they should not be discriminated against because of it. My wish at this time is for every ignorant person like yourself become fat so you all know how it feels when people treat you badly because your fat.

Honey,,there are real problems ruining American society but "fat" people arent the ones to blame.
I dont recall seeing "wider" cars.
On airplanes,,I dont think that they are sitting in your chair.
Why are you worried about their health,,I dont beleive that for a minute.
And tell me how your tax money is going to overweight people??????? lol.
Get educated Barbie. For the record,,Im 120 lbs.maybe.Wow,,I just read your blog,,,I always beleived that people are what they call other people.Take a good look at yourself.

Actually, it is the 7th leading cause of death in the USA. Go to the website of the Centers for Disease Control of the Federal Government. It is behind auto accidents and gunshot wounds as a cause of death. Another myth is the obese people eat more food than thin people. Actually, they eat slightly less calories per day than thin people. It's about genetics primarily. I know a woman who eats 5000 calories a day and weighs 115 pounds.

Both can be just as bad..I am a RN(Nurse) and it can be just a bad to have anorexia skinny people/girls coming in our ER pumping their veins full of electrolytes to balance them out because they "refuse" to eat! That can be and IT is just as expensive. You have to give them medicine to make them have periods and other meds for this and that! And medication is not cheap. So from experience, BOTH CAN BE JUST AS BAD, I KNOW, I HAVE SEEN THIS FROM MY OWN EYES!
But isn't there other things you should be worried about than just "petty" things as this? I mean this is really ridiculous!! You need to get a life dude..there is heart attacks and cancer and diabetics and so much more than you know..than just "obese" people. And "obese" is the proper term to use and not "fat"..OK?

No, people like you are what ruins societies. Ignorant, narrow-minded and always looking for excuses to point the finger at someone else in attempt to make yourself feel better. Get over yourself, get educated and try to focus your attention on actual problems.
