It's worth the price just for his spoken interludes, and it's got some of the best 'mumbled but it kind of makes sense anyway' Waits on any of his albums.

I particularly like:

'colder than a gut shot bit*h wolf-dog,
with nine sucking pups pullin' a four-trap,
up a hill in the dead of winter,
in the middle of a snowstorm,
with a mouthful of porcupine quills...'

And yes, drunk is the best state to listen to this album, in fact you can almost smell the bourbon on TW's breath coming off the speakers! The piano jockey, full of bourbon, you might say.

Will I see you tonight on a downtown train
every night every night it's just the same
you leave me lonely
will I see you tonight on a downtown train
all my dreams all my dreams fall like rain
on a downtown train

Me! I love Tom Waits, his voice is so wonderfully gravelly, and he writes such meaningful lyrics. He's different than anyone. And he's a good actor, too.
