What medicinal value is attributed to it? And what is its common name?

I have this plant in my garden. I discovered its scientific name, and the fact that it has medicinal value, in a museum garden. I am certain I have spelled the name right, as I delightedly copied it down on the spot. Search engines do turn up the genus Starchytarpheta jamaicensis, indica, etc, but not S.dichotoma, and without any useful info on this genus. I am very curious to know more, as I'd always suspected it to have some medicinal value, due to the lovely aroma of its leaves - it is what I imagine the healing kingsfoil (in LOTR) would smell like...

I entered the name in three search engines and came away with no results. I am guessing that you have badly mispelled the name, or the search engines would have come up with a "did you mean" type message. You might want to rethink, retype, and repost your question.

Good luck with your search for information.
