Parcells also found time to address the burning question of how he got his nickname: "Big Tuna."
"I think it goes back to my first time with the Patriots," said Parcells, who was New England's linebackers coach in 1980.

"There was an old commercial from Starkist with Charlie the Starkist Tuna, so my players were trying to con me on something one time, and I said, 'You must think I'm Charlie the Tuna,' you know, a sucker, and that's kind of how it started.

"We started with it that year and they used to wear those little tuna helmets, you know, tuna pictures on their helmets. That's where it all started."

Way back when, some Giants' player was begging out of a practice. Parcells responded "Sorry Charlie." The players start calling him The Big Tuna, as in Charlie the Tuna.

Parcells earned the nickname "The Big Tuna" when he responded to a bogus statement from a player with the incredulous "Who do you think I am? Charlie the Tuna?" The "Big" portion should be self-explanatory.

No but he is doing an AWFUL job in Dallas...has alot of talent and cannot produce...pathetic. Julius Jones is avg. the most yards per game than anyone in the NFL and he quits giving him the ball (esp. in the redzone)...TO was brought in for one reason and thats to be a threat on offense, no one has helped TO get the ball as the Cowboys didnt even throw to TO for over a quarter last game...Witten is the only TE to ever have 65+ receptions in back to back seasons and Parcells turns him into more of a "blocking" TE...Bledsoe has played awful, showed his age, his ability is far below what it used to be, he's made a million mistakes....Pat Watkins has played AWFUL and yet he leaves out Keith Davis who played much better...
