my late mother is also in the dream. a guy was there helping to clear the termites.

The "house" represents your self. In the middle of a field, you are a lonely person, isolated. Some thing or things are eating you from inside (termites). Your mom is watching all this stuff eating your insides and wants to help you. The man who is helping "clear out the termites"..... You are gay and need to come out of the closet, dude.
