Don't feel guilty, go to work, take it slow and let them know your getting better....Don't chit chat a lot or do alot of wandering around. Usually a small illness keeps you down around two days.

Everyone has taken a pretend sick day. When you go into work tomorrow. Do a little coughing not to much. Like pretend to clear your throat. And don't wear any makeup rub your eyes alot to make them a soft red. then when you talk to people. In the middle of your sentence do a clearing of the throat or a light sniffle. Good luck and if you feel guilty get over it cause next time you might just tell your work that you are tired and need a little break. Alot of times they are more understanding then finding out you lied to them. Also, don't get all dressed up and do wear high heels. try to casual and wear your hair in a ponytail.. Good LUck

I've done it before when I really had a good reason. But this past January when I got sick at school and had to go lay in a bed in the nurses office, I felt confident that they didn't think I was pulling their leg, because for me it is extremely uncommon for me to call in sick. It has to do with what people will think of you professionally

It depends what you told them was wrong with you and also the environment you work in - if it's with a lot of males tell them it's 'womens problems' and they usually won't ask too many questions. Alternatively, saying you think you had a migraine should work. Don't worry too much though, we've all done it...as long as you don't make a habit of it you should be fine.

Yes go in and say you are feeling a bit better today, don't offer too many explanations, just say you were feeling really rough. Be a little less bubbly than you normally are, just don't enter in to any conversations about symptoms, or you could end up reeling off a huge list just to make it sound convincing!

Practice saying this: I had a touch of Gastro. They will not ask for any more details.
Feeling guilty is a sign of an honest concience.
Doing it too often you will lose credibility and be seen as unreliable.
Hope this helps

Don't worry to much. The best time to chuck a sicky is when your not really sick. Even your boss would have done it. I know I have!
