Thats not a virus. It a just a system file to maintain a thumbnail impression of your jpg files created by microsoft ("thumbs" shortform for thumbnail)...so that you can see the image without even before clicking on it...no need to get worried.
While deleting it can give u some respite...windows can generated it automatically once again...SO..
If it is irritating you then you can get rid of it by checking the below link on how to do it

Thats not a virus. Thats a file that holds thumbnail information for any folder you have in windows that has pictures in it. The db stands for DataBase. Thumbnail DataBase. Obviously if u are able to see and or view the thumb.db file, that means that you have your "Hide protected operating system files" option unchecked. That is bad for people that dont know system files from regular files, and myte accidently delete a system file causing ur system to crash. To fix that problem, open up any windows folder, click tools (on menu bar), scroll down to folder options, click the view tab. Check the box that says "Hide protected operating system files." Click okay.

it's not a virus. It holds your thumbnail information.

You can safely delete it if you want to, but why?

All that deleting it will do is make it slower to view thumbnails. Keep it, it's an operating system file.
