Yes, they felt like dusty sand, but not really sand , as much as sand thats a touch bigger, and a bit lighter. The ashes I examined were a greyish color, I'd say they were 60% burned up bones and 40% ash. They were heavier than I would have guessed!

Never done it but my guess it would feel like ash from paper or from a fire place, the light fine white ash. Since the chemical composition of a tree and a human are about identical, the ash should be identical.
Dont think too much about that. Ash is ash is ash....

I've never touched the ases before, but it would probably feel like touching the ashes of other things (cigarette/ fireplace).

yes. It feels like the ashes in your fireplace. They burn them at high temp, nothing really there.

hard... they feel hard and cold... its sad :( because the color of there skin changes also... I think seeing someone you loved so much in a coffin lying there dead is SO SAD!
