Either it is overheating or you have a virus.
Check your AV is up-to-date and running, check all available patches are installed, and make sure the fan is not obstructed - do not use the laptop in your lap unless it is on a tray as clothing can block the fan intake/outlet causing overheating and perhaps even damaging the CPU.

Have you checked your battery? If not it may be a bad motherboard. My laptop shuts off after a minute too, but can not guarantee anything.

hmm if the hard drives shutting down it could be that the hard drive about ti fail make sure your power managaement settings arent set t o turn ofin a certain amount of time.

remove all p2p sharing network if you have that software on pc like limewire ,this is why your pc is slow, add more ram 2gb ram

check your power management. check if it is set to shut down in a specied time when it is idle (no keyboard or touchpad activity)
