I have clinical depression and want to help myself now from struggling with the lack of sunshine during the Winter months. This is a genuine request, no negative replies please. Am dealing with grief, 2 members of my family with cancer, and need to find the best way to help me through the months with little or no sunshine. I am trying hard to be positive so some help from anyone in the same situation would be appreciated.

Thank you for the lovely answers I have received. I have now ordered a light box through Boots, The Chemist in the U.K.

My wife suffers from the same thing although unlike you she has no reason to feel that way, it is all down to SAD

She uses one of those baseball type hats with the lights fitted, incredibly expensive for what they are but they work and you're not stuck in front of a box every morning.

She also takes 10mg of Prozac during the winter months too, maybe it's cheating taking drugs but it is such a small dose and it really does the job and it is just for the winter months. She isn't a happy bunny if she tries to beat it on her own..

anything else you want to know then just get in touch.. you're not alone
