Good question! I do NOT talk politics at work or with family, with VERY few exceptions. Most of the people I know have a different view than I do. Why get into an argument?

I reserve all my thoughts for this board!

I don't think anyone should argue politics at work. The work place is a place to do what you are paid to do. I always vote Republican now, since the last several years, especially. When liberals rant and rave at work and speak highly of Bill Clinton, I just ignore them and keep my mouth shut. I am one of the silent majority that help to elect Bush, in the landslide over Kerry. If someone wishes to vote for people with no morals then I say let them. They have the right to be ignorant.

I don't voice my opinion.
Nothing will be resolved in such a conversation because it's just two people taking turns talking about what they feel is most important without trying to see the other's point of view. I usually say something sarcastic about all politics in general to get everyone to agree on a certain aspect of politics and move on to a different subject.

You should respect another person's politics, but only to the extent that you would respect their opinion that their children are cute and their lover good-looking.

don't be afraid to say what you believe in. that's what the self-righteos are afraid of, that someone may speak out about something they don't like.
