Hey guys if I want to be a lead guitarist what do I need to learn? Do I have to learn how to play tabs or chords or other things?

1) Guitar

3) Lots of practise
-Whoever says you need to learn scales and modes and all is wrong. There is no need. You /can/, if you want to.. but many people don't know, and just use their ear.
-Just practise.. hammerons, slides, bends, vibrato, etc.. you can use some tabs to try and learn.. Learn someone elses song, pickup the notes/etc.. you'll get more expierience over time and all that =p

You need to learn scales, chords, power chords, techniques like hammering on, pull offs, tapping etc. lotsa stuffs to learn.

ask around.you might meet someone who will teach you..or go to walmart/bestbuy/circut city/comp usa..and get a cd with instructions.about $10-$20..learn chords first then scales..music therory..its hard , but hard work pays off..

all stuffs my men........... you need to be flexible you need to be the best just learn how to give your 100% in all performance youre doing.... every thing will came out ull be the lead guitarist of your band............. just show them u can be what you want
