1. Because it was a plane crash into a building in New York and we all know what that reminds us of.
2. Because it involved a sports figure.

How do you know what caused the crash? I cannot even find a consensus on how many were killed?
My question is why does it seem they make his life more important than the others. We know a flight instructor was killed. Was he married? Have kids?
A lot of shows are sending out condolences to Cory's wife and son and making no mention of the flight trainer.
This is why, the media is sick to get ratings. They know more people care about the famous and they cover all about him and ignore the others that might be dead knowing only the families care and that does not drive ratings and ad revenue.
We live in a sad, sick, and selfish society. This is a new level of the madness.

How is he ignorant? He was learning to fly and had an instructor in the plane with him. He was a Major League pitcher athe is why the press is paying so much attention to him and the fact he was a New York Yankee pitcher with ties with the Oakland team the Met team might have something to do with it also.
