What makes a rabbit happy is living in a loving indoor home where he gets lots of attention, some quiet time, plenty of time to run around and play, pets from you, lots of good fresh hay, plain pellets, a variety of greens, and the occasional tiny piece of fruit. [mine would tell you they would like lots of fruit, but too much isn't good for them.]
They love to play with you and with the toys you give them and those can be as simple as the inside roll of paper towels or an old phone book. See this link for more ideas:

Rabbits are what is called crepuscular so they sleep during the day and night and want to be active at dawn and twilight. Ours will race around the house, explore, and play until about 9:30 every night. Rabbits are very social and usually love a companion. A spayed female and neutered male generally are the easiest to bond. That way they'll have a friend when you can't be with them.

Rabbits are chewers and they love to chew. We give small twigs and wood for ours to chew on. Their teeth are constantly growing and if not wore down by chewing, can cause a serious problem called malcolusion. Some plants are poisonous to rabbits so watch what you give them.
We also give ours small boxes, like macaroni & cheese boxes. They love to chew on those as well. Usually we fill them with Timothy hay first, another thing rabbits love. We also use paper towel and toliet paper rolls.
Othe toys you can use include golf balls, they love to knock them around. A fellow rabbit breeder also uses empty soup cans. They will even flip them up on their head, which is very funny. Just make sure the can is much large than the head so that it doesnt get stuck.

I have kept rabbits for years. Firstly they need rabbit company so two is far better than one. They should both be spayed otherwise they will probably fight (or make babies).
To entertain them, get a hanging basket and put it so they can reach it on their hind legs, and fill it with hay so they have to work to get it.
Also get some fresh vegetables and apple and using a strong needle thread them together and hang these up. This one is very popular.
They also have a 'dig' at the end of their run. We put a large bag of bark and used wood to keep it from falling away, they love to jump into it and dig and burrow.
Also they appreciate me getting them out for grooming and a change of scenery.
Hope this helps!

Oh, rabbits live a very simply life. Just put grass in their cage regularly. And before you know it, if they are a pair, your rabbits will multiply. And they're edible. Can be a means of livelihood.

Rabbits like to sleep and play with toys. Paper bags, plastic slinkies, straw broom heads, phone books, plastic jingle balls are all great toys.

They like to run around chewing and pooing on stuff.
They like people and food.
I had a bunny who loved grape vines. You know, what's left after you finish the bunch of grapes, she loved them!
I found out later it's also good for filing down thier teeth.

You need to give them lots of room to play and lots of things to play with because they will get very bored and start chewing up EVERYTHING. so...sticks, and like boxes and stuff to make a maze, keeps them busy. Switch it around every now and then and make a different path through the boxes. fun!
