OK, so I know I'll get some wisecrack answers (I'll ignore them), and I'll get some "thumbs down." So be it. I still have to say that Alex Baldwin could have been one of the dramatic actor greats of our time. I feel like it is such a waste of great talent to lower him to one of these "Hollywood comedies." Why did he do it? He could have been sooooo good. Such a shame. Such a waste. Do you agree? Did he lower himself by taking a role in a TV comedy show, when he could have done so much more?

Veda, I gave you a thumbs up not because I necessarily agree with you, but because I appreciate your honesty. Still, my concern is with Alex Baldwin as an actor. I'm not really concerned about him in real life. After all, actors are being paid to be somebody they're not, right? Anyway, you make some good points. Thanks for laying it on the line.

Nah, I don't think so. You have to consider this...TV has changed so much in the past few years. Just think of the BIG names that are doing or have recently done TV shows. Geena Davis, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field to name a few. (Sally Field is on a new show now "Brothers and Sisters"...don't know if it's all season or not). I think my husband hit it on the head that it is more accepted now for movie actors to do some TV acting because the salaries (of at least the more popular shows) have gone through the roof. I think "Friends" gets the credit for that. Just another perspective.

Alex is truly a character actor, so versatile. I don't think he loweres himself by doing a television show. His got to work like us. I like him in Glengarry Glen Ross, the scene where he cuss everyone in the real estate office. Very talent individual, In the movie, Departed his funny.

He lowered himself much worse than a TV sitcom .
He trashes the mother of his daughter , time after time , like a stubborn bully ; and he talks trash about our country and our President . I'm still waiting to wave good-bye to him at the dock on his way to a better life -like he promised . His roles on the screen no longer hold my interest , as jerks bore me .
