You may not have a right to be interviewed, but they do have to give you a reason why you were not selected. Call and ask them and let them know you are puzzled as to why you were not interviewed since your qualifications met their requirements. Employers are like everyone else - they get away with what people let them get away with.

Why should you have the right to an interview?

Nobody has the "right" to a job -it's not something that is provided for you.

Jobs occur when somebody has a need for someone else to do work. It's entirely up to them who they interview or hire. The only exception is government organizations and the reason for this is that they are supposed to be accountable to us - the public.

Think of it this way - if you were looking for say a company to clean your carpets - do you have any obligation at all to ask for a quote from any particular company - even though they are perfectly qualified for the job?

No, unfortunately applying for a job doesn't mean you'll also get an interview for the position available. Companies accept applications as a tool to help them sift through applicants to find whom they believe is the ideal candidate. Your resume is an extension of not only your abilities but also who you are. It's important to make sure it's well written and professional. A poorly written resume can sometimes make or break your chances of ever getting your foot in the door. Also, depending on what kind of position it is, it's important to make sure a cover letter accompanies your resume along w/references. A lot of people think including "references available upon request" is ok to do but actually it makes more work for the company to have to come back and ask you for them. Good luck :)

Welcome to the world of careers and hiring. Thanks to the economy 1,000 of applications are received for every job application that is put out. Perhaps you resume needs fine tuned, perhaps your cover letter was not good, your attitude in the cover letter might not have won the attention of Human Resources. You were not denied employment, you did not make the cut. Just a pointer you may want to take an English course, as this question is not written well and that matters when applying for a position.

No. If the position is receiving numerous applications, the company will start by weeding out the people which are not suited for the job due to qualifications. Your application and/or resume is the companies first impression of you that is why it is important to write neatly and create the best resume you can.

They dont have to interview you. They either already filled the position or just didnt like what they saw. You may have been qualified, however they spend about 10 seconds looking at a resume. They probably were not satisfied with your resume layout. I would have it looked at.

Oh and no they dont have to give you a reason, why should thye have to explain themselves to you.

no, there are a million reasons on why they may not have interviewed you, examples being that they already filled the positions by the time they got to your application, maybe you really aren't well qualified by their standards, or they could have honestly lost your application.

don't take it personally. its business and its mean!

To answer your question,it's yes and no
first you must find out why you wasn't offered
an interview ?because it's your right under equal
opportunity unless you was told that the company no longer accepting applications.

not necessarily.....employers reserve all rights on whom to interview...and whom to hire for that matter.....you may, however, make some follow-ups to check how your application is going.......annndd....if you are really qualified and there is no better choice im sure they'll get back to you.....unless of course, nepotism/favoritism gets in the way.....
