Yes, I have a myspace account. Actually I have two. One is for my close friends and people that I actually know, and that's how I chat to people who don't use the same IMs that I have. You can share a lot of pictures and goof off on there and every friend on there can message you. I think its better than IM-ing sometimes.
My other myspace account is actually kinda awful! I've been adding everybody on there that wants to be my friend. I started off saying that I was a model to everyone on there, and now I have famous bands, photographers, agents, other former models, and many other people talking to me wanting me to do some work and model for them. The extra account has actually helped me to become known where I live now. A lot of people walk up to me now and are like whoa, you're that chick who modeled for "______" magazine or store.
I guess its not just for young people, but the majority of it is.
I would assume that the only reason why teachers are not too involved with myspace is because they are not very intelligent. lol. Actually, they either do not have an interest in joining or they just don't know too much about computers and technology to probably make their way over to the site and get started.

I have an "account" with myspace, yet I rarely visit it..It's geared more for the young ones and teenagers..
My "goal" at the time of starting it was because I have a few friends who have accounts there too.

I love myspace and the reason I use it is as a way to keep up with my friends from high school and work that I don't see anymore.

i keep in touch with my friends on myspace. people from high school that i want to keep up with, and current friends. i go out of town a lot, so that gives us a way of contacting each other and sharing events that are going on.
teachers could really benefit from myspace. it would be a great way to enteract with their students. give homework help, etc.

i have it for the purpose of leaving little cute and romantic comments and messages for my girlfriend. i don't think that teachers have them because they probably see it as a social thing for students. i really don't see any point in myspace

I'm a teacher and I use it, but not for communicating with kids. Some people are up to some unsavory activities out there.
I use it to communicate with my friends that I don't see very often and as dorky as this sounds it's a good avenue to communicate when an email would be to "formal".
