i agree with Guelph. guns, germs, and steel is a very good book. it answers this question directly (and why it was that europeans invaded the americas rather than vice versa.)

Hayden: the colonists weren't slaves. even if they were, then the africans were slaves of slaves, still a worse position than the colonists. do you really think that conditions of the colonists (being taxed without being represented, having by law to accommodate soldiers if the soldiers needed it) was equal to that of the slaves they were whipping? Lets not distort history here. The colonists under the british had it nowhere near as bad as the slaves did.

Because the African countries were busy with trying to make their country successful from the inside (tribes), but the European countries worked the other way around, meaning they thought more of colonization of other countries to better theirs.

Because they were not as civilized. The same problem we have now with Iraqis, Iranians, and Koreans. That is why these counties hate us now. Oh Well. There is your answer. Still going on too.

Go read Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. It makes the case, convincingly, that the reason they didn't is a matter of geographical luck: access to domesticatable animals and plants, varying climates, arable land, and so on and so forth.

because they were basically rednecks with spears going against well trained militaries? and because the white man is inherently evil whereas africans were better people who fell victim to the white man's interference (I'm white, by the way)
