The U.S is clearly dominating the world. The word 'dominating' needs to be duly noted however, as this is exactly how they are doing it, not by popular opinion (even in there own country) but by force and extreme propoganda. Will it change? Hopefully, but not for a long time, part of this problem is that it's only about 20 percent of Americans that actually support (most through ignorance/unaccountable fear) their foreign policy. I think to be really fair you need to admit that it's no longer a state (country) which has the power, but transnational corporations and big business which has so heavily subverted democracy and government power structures across the globe that they tend to have a bigger say than most countries. There's way to many examples of how this works, if you want to do a little research I'd suggest starting at chomsky.info

Right now it's the U.S., and probably will be until China gets technologically advanced and rich enough to take away the crown!
