im so emberassed by the countrymen of mine that still or for that matter initially supported this war, without a doubt it is unjust in the sense that saddam hussein posed absolutely no direct threat to the U.S. Republicans in this country are holding on to there pride and monetary gains, they do not think about the people they think of themselves and the advancement of there multi national corporation,if we are to assume that saddam was a threat then logically we should assume that every arab country is a threat, weve ignored north korea or what about cuba or the janjhewi of the sudan or to be very honest israel, and truly honest ourselves,we americans under a republican leadership become global terrorists ourselves economically, environmentally and most definately in a sense of war, i mean hell theres a lot of ruthless dictators out there that all participate in terrorism, should we invade northern ireland, what about south central L.A or alphabet city in N.Y, the truth is this government that the christian right has elected has started a third world war, they are manifesting there own destiny at the behest of the rest of us,american foriegn policy has always been horrible,we are at the lowest point of our history, and the more i read of these republican views the more i realize how easily people get brainwashed into non individual thought processes, for christsakes we have a president that doesnt speak the language,we have a congress and senate under which at any given time someone is under investigation,we as american citizens have let our country go.we are a complacent people ,as long as we get our cable and hot pockets,as long as we can go to a foreign country and see the golden arches of mcdonalds we know we have conquered. and for our brave fighting soldiers over there now look back a page in history to viet nam this is that but so so much worse, were screwed now i can guarentee you that saddam was not terrorising the general populace of iraq the way that our occupation is now get it through your heads people we are and INVADING force, there was no outcry from the iraqi people like there was in rwanda or yugoslavia where we were being begged to give help no quite the contrary,it wasnt great in iraq before us but dont be so ignorant to fool yourselves into thinking that living in a occupied war zone is better, ignorance its shameful

The numbers of persons killed does not establish the rightness or wrongness of the invasion. Recall that the rationale for the invasion in the first place was not to end the tyranny of Saddam Hussein (who killed perhaps over 200,000 of the Iraqi people), it was to deprive him of WMD. And don't start with the nonsense about there being none found; we all know that already. But how easily we like to forget that UNSCOM equivocated on the matter of Iraqi WMD in the twelve months before March 2003.
There is also no way to know whether the American military leaving would reduce or increase the violence. The question now is whether it is actually a civil war, and if it is, the American presence there is probably not having much effect on the violence one way or the other. But the American service men and women will certainly catch a few bullets, that's for sure.

Get the facts.... that is a Democrat LIE.... don't buy the SH!T they dump....
Even if it was true.... it would only show the ignorance of Islamic ideology.... Muslims killing Muslims.... what an ideology of ignorance and MURDER... and those followers think all people should bow down to Islam, join or die..... SCREW them and their cretin leaders.... They would be better off under the former USSR. The commies understand the Islamo-fascists.... they are very much alike.
WE are there so you idiots of Islamo-fascism will try to engage the clean people of the world there instead of here....
And if you aren't an idiotic follower of Islamo-fascism, you need to screw your head on straight and realize those fantic pigs want to cut YOUR head off with a dull knife... They want you DEAD.

I take it you didn't live in Iraq during Saddam's regime? You probably have the right and the privilege to express your opinion without having your head cut off either right? How about ethnic cleansing, or torture. Have you experience any of that?

BUT WE FREED THE IRAQI PEOPLE FROM SADDAMS BRUTAL REGIME REMEMBER>
Of course nutcase inbred Conservatives and Republicans are using that excuse because the "Saddam has wmd's" bull crap didn't work.
Then the "Saddam and Al-Qaeda were working together". That one didn't work. So now they use the third lame excuse of "We helped the Iraqi's get away from the horrible Saddam"
Only 650,000 are dead and idiots will just come up with another excuse to bail out their boy Bush.

Mido, I know. Even if the figure isn't accurate it is way too much and so many of these people are innocent families. I read so much each day about how such innocent people are brutally murdered. It makes me sick. And to think we have dealt the hand in this. It makes me sad to be a part of this human race.

I am Canadian and see the U.S as a great nation. Stupid people blame U.S and bush when the finger points at pathetic government ruling in Iraq.
I highly agree with the first answer.

hey I hated the idea of going there... but with the chaos that reigns supreme there I have to think a lot more would die if we just pull out... we have to put enough resources into this and do it right... show the world that we aren't imperialists, just good intentioned people who sometimes overstep our boundaries...
