We had A BBQ with friends the other week ,
And We bought all the food as you do...
And the boys went off to get some drinks , we will call them bob and david.
So bob forgets his wallet and my partner david pays for the drinks , Bob says he will pay him back , David wasnt bothered....
he figured we were the hosts we could supply all the drinks as well ,
Anyway they get back home bob does not offer the money back , we didnt really care...
No where near the end of the night our friends bob and korinna decide to go home and take a $40.00 unopened bottle of booze with them! they didnt even tell us they were taking it , didnt pay for it , And when asked we were told to come and take the half drunk bottle cause they had no money. That wasnt the princible.....
they seem to think they have done nothing wrong???

May I add that it was BYO drinks that what the boys went off to get...... but bob ''forgot'' his wallet ,
I am not chasing them for the money nor hassleing them about how rude i thought it was , I just wanted to know if anyone else would have thought that to be rude.
Wise words
lend somone $20.00 and if you never see that person again..........................................
... It was probably worth it.

Well, look at it this way... you learned a $40 lesson about what sort of people these friends of yours really are. Now you know what the limitations should be for how much you interact with them, rely on them, and trust them.
Be glad the lesson wasn't more expensive.

It was definitely rude to take the unopened bottle. Since u were the hosts I can seee why u would supply the food and drinks that were consumed at the party. If I was the guest I would have contributed something but I would only have taken any leftovers that I had brought. I would also have paid u back if that is what I said that I would do. I strongly suggest not inviting them over again.

don't worry about the money he said he'd give, you keep saying that money doesn't matter and you don't really care cuz you were the hosts. If that's how you really feel about that, then let that part GO. they took a bottle of kinda expensive booze and didn't ask. You have the right to ask them to bring it back. POlitely ask them if they hapened to take it, as it was not for anyone to take with them. If they decline to bring it back, deny they took it, or say they drank it already, then you may want to reassess your friendship with them. You couild still hang out, but i think they showed a side of them you obviously don't like, so maybe they aren't people you want to hang with as much. Tell them how you feel and if they are your friends, they will understand and apologize.

They haven't done anything wrong. You had the party and you were supposed to supply the food and drinks. If they took the booze bottle with them, it was bought for the party wasn't it? They were the guests and it was for them too right? It was wrong that they didn't ask you for it but since they took it, don't make a big deal out of it and next time be sure you make the rules of the party before you have one. Ask them next time to supply the drinks or if you really don't to support them financially...don't invite the cheapskates again!

Nowsaday many people take things for granted. If they want e bottle of booze to take home they should have e manners to ask the host. without asking and taking other person belonging etc can be consider as stealing. Don't ask them to join in any party, BBQ next time.

That was wrong of them. If them & you guys were equally in on the BBQ, they should've helped you guys out. That's the main thing that totally sucks about going in half with friends; some of 'em end up being the "I forgot my wallet" type.

just forget it and chalk it up to a lesson learned. if you want people to contribute to a party, let them know when you invite them that it's potluck, or B.Y.O.B. sure it was rude for them to take the bottle, but it will seem very petty of you to pursue the matter. just show some class and drop it and learn from it.
