There are all kinds of home remedies for ridding ones' home of cockroaches, and none of them work in the long run. Best advice is to hire the services of a professional exterminator. Any other solution is a waste of time.
Good luck with your roach problem.

I would suggest that you hire an exterminator first to rid you of the problem. Then get some boric acid and pour it around the perimeter of your house indoors, especially in the kitchen. Boric acid is cheap, natural, and toxic to cockroaches.

Good question, I wish I had all the answers for that one. The best I can tell you is bug bomb the house. You can also use boric acid, which sufficates the roaches.
Unfortunately, the roaches where here long before humans, and probably the only thing that will survive an nuclear war. Good luck with you battle of the beast.

I really hate to say this, but you don't get rid of cockroaches... they are the only living thing that will survive a nuclear blast...

I got this advice from a from a professional exterminator. He said that the sprays and bombs don't really kill the roaches. They will eat at it and weaken it. He said to get the roach gel ( sold in most commercial stores) and use it according to directions. It will take a few months and a few applications but once you get them gone, you can periodically put the gel out to kill any new ones that may try to invade. I tried it and it is the best way to deal with them. We also saved money when we did get them (the professionals) to come out and spray once a month.

Buy some boric acid & line the shelves, cupboards & drawers with it. Not near your food or plates & glasses. But at the back towards the wall of the cupboards, shelves & drawers. I do this twice a year, vacuuming up the old boric acid thouroughly before putting down new. I do it when we set the clocks forward for spring & back for winter. Easiest to remember for me.

get a couple of jars..fill a quarter full with honey/syrup/water mix. Run a ring of vaselene just round the inner neck. Set and check every couple of days. To kill any live ones,, just pour in boiling water, rinse out and start again. Ps cheap red wine does the same job.
Best of all it's cheap, effective and environmentally friendly!

Boric acid , it is very effective when used properly for killing
cockroaches and most other insects.
You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at http://tinyurl.com/ofxkk

We just get stuff from home depot. We do it ourselves and it works just fine. If you have a bad infestation, you may want to call in a pro.
