Your daughter may not be producing enough estrogen. Don't worry OK. Have your primary Doctor give you a referral to see an endocrinologist. They deal with hormones. Find out if she has any other strange symptoms and see what you can find out online.

I started having hot flashes after I gave birth to twin girls at the age of 26. I talked with my ob/gyn and he explained that there are numerous reasons for hot flashes. 1. Low estrogen level. That can be caused by stress. Also drops in cholestorol levels will cause estrogen levels to drop. Does your daughter eat enough red meat. 2. Hot flashes are one of the first symptoms of non-hodgkins lymphoma, but primarily as night sweats. 3. Peri-menopause. The earliest stages of menopause. As her mother, when did you hit menopause. This a question her doc will ask. For me, I am no a 30 yr old mother of 4 children and I have full blown menopause. I hope this help.

Hmm, that is really strange. I've never heard of that before in an 18 year old. Sounds like you need a trip to the doctor! Hope everything's all right there

Take your daughter to the gyn. Her hot flashes may be due to hormonal imbalance or stress.
The doctor can best determine her condition and prescribe treatment.

In all honesty, if I were you I'd be making an appointment for her with the doctor. This doesn't sound normal especially for an 18 year old.
Call the doctor and schedule an appointment please!

You should take her to the hospital to see what they can do for her, just to be on the safe side.
