Avent they come with differn flows and cup sizes. They are soft suck so I think it makes an easier transition but for older kids the playtex ones that are grown up style. ( they look like the stainless steel starbuck cups but come in cool sparkly colors).

To be honest I think that we need to teach them to drink straight from a regular cup. I know that it is not as convenient but after having to break three other children from their sippy I decided with my 9 month old that we would go straight to a big girl cup and she has done very well. Of course, I have to hold the cup and I can't just let her walk around with it but I really feel like it will be one less thing to have to take away at some point. My doctor also mentioned to me that a lot of people end up letting their kids drink too much from their sippy cups and the kids get too much juice or sugary drinks that are of no real nutritional value because it is sooooo convenient to hush them up with. He also mentioned that if I really wanted to use a sippy then it should be used only for water. I am really glad I took his advice although I must admit I am sometimes jealous when I see one of my friends children sitting in their highchair happily gulping away while I am stuck right next to my daughter helping her drink from her cup. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

i love the Gerber sippy cups with the handles that move into about three different positions; the first one is very close together and feels like she is holding a bottle. as your child grows you can move the handles out further. the best part is that everything is dishwasher safe on top rack, and if you get a few of these, they are all interchangeable. a two pack is 'bout $4. my daughter went straight from breast feeding to these and i have not had any problems, plus they are great when it comes to teething because they can "chew" on the spouts with cold water in the glass part. it feels realy good on their teeth.

I like Nuby. You can get them from WalMart or online. They are cheap and a great starter sippy. They are soft spout but eventually you can switch to the hard spout--and it's much eaiser. It's eaiser to buy at WalMart but you can online at the below site.
