I changed all filters...oil, fuel...what next?

Diesel engine are well know for smoking when they are cold or out of tune. Given the age of the engine, I would suggest an injector tune up or replacement. A good diesel technician should be able to tell what you need. A warm well tuned diesel engine should not smoke under acceleration, it should not be considered normal (you are basically wasting fuel). Hope it helps.

It is common with lower grades of fuel.

You may need a ring job on it. and the cost can be alittle high. you didn't mention how many mile the truck has on it.
