moving to biarittz?

hi,im 36 i have a 6 yr old daughter and we would like to move to the south of france somewhere on the atlantic where we can surf and start a new life after some hard times,any hints suggestions.we live in alaska now and any positive input would be great! thank you

Good if you speak french. If you like to surf I can also recommend the spanish basque country, near San Sebastian, but also Anywhere in Portugal, where most people speak english and there's great waves.
