How many times for local friends?
I'm a bad person to keep in touch with. I normally don't accept calls and wait about at least 2-3 months until I call them back. Even some of my local friends drive to my home just to see if I'm okay because I don't return calls. So I'm trying to break the bad habit without going overboard. I'm trying to find out what is a good number of times to contact friends and family monthly without seeming like I'm stalking them now.

Friends about 2-3 months or less. Parents about once a week. Siblings 3 or 4 times a year

Its good that you want to change because you'll find as you grow older there will less and less people willing to pursue you this much to keep in contact with you.
If someone calls you and you're not there...call them back on the same or the next day.
If its a long distance friend, call them once a month to keep track of them or email them once a week.
Call your family members once every 2 weeks.
Call your local friends every 3 days.
If someone comments that you're acting weirdly, tell them that its because you feel that keeping in touch is important and that this was a very bad habit of yours which you're not happy to keep.

Every other day without them I would most definitly go insane. Thats why I have a long distance plan that allows me to do that without having a huge bill at the end of the month. LOL

with friends from long distance im talking every single day,with
relatives 3 times in a week and with local friends 5 times on a week.so i think u should change ur style if u wanna keep ur friends

usually i stay in touch w/ long-distance friends by Myspace and email... but the phone... not so much.
