Who is the singer of the song "Oh Happy Day" that Howie Mandel uses in his routine?

Unfortunately, this is not a gospel song by Hawkins. I have done so much searching on the web and the lyrics do not match. The video that Howie Mandel used looked like it came from the 60's ... like on the Lawrence Welk show or something like that.

I know that is a Hawkins song. It was also done in Sister Act 2 by the class. I do not know about the routine.

Don't know the singer but the song comes from the play Godspell.
