So i am 20 days late for my period, all tests that i have taken have come out negative. I've had 3 other children and all my tests were positive by the 4th week. Now is it possible to be pregnant, but not get a positive HPT?? Yea i know with 3 kids i should know but i don't. I'm going kind of nuts and would like someones opinion. Thanks in advance.

Ok i asked for mature responses, i am 26 it's not like im a teen living with mom and dad here. You need to realize i've done this already and that my children are loved and cared for. I do not like the negative feedback from some people.

I am a well educated women. I do not consider myself a "baby machine". All of you who have made childish comments should be ashamed of yourselves. If i would've asked for you to judge and put me down, i would of posted this in the "Am i asking a stupid question?" section.

it could be nothing it could be something-instead of letting some clearly demented people call you names or infer that there is something wrong with you, call your OB. Ignore the people who make fun of mothers. They forget that they were a child once and born of a mother...wouldn't it have been nice if their mommy wasn't a "baby machine."

It is possible to have a false negative urinary pregnancy test.

However pregnancy is not the only possible cause for a period to be 3 weeks late.

Perhaps you should consult your family doctor and talk with them. They would probably do a blood pregnancy test and consider doing further tests depending on what they find.

Many other causes - including

anxiety/stress
hemochromatosis
prolactinoma
thyroid hormone abnormalities

etc

go to the doctor. the only sure way to find out if you are pregnant or not is a blood test. being a female and a mother of 3, your body should be able to tell you. Does it feel like you have butterflies in your stomach? Like I said the only sure fire way is to have a blood test done. your body produces a certain hormone when you become pregnant to get the body ready.

I think I am confused as to why you would not just make an appointment w/ your GYN...? I is certainly possible for you to be pregnant, rgardless of you past experience. I think some women get a little obsessed w/ thinking every pregnancy will be the same or your body will behave the same.
See your Doc!!

you would have a positive by now if your were indeed pregnant. some people think they need a blood test, so i guess you could try to get a doctor to run one for you but i highly doubt you are pregnant. the home tests are very accurate if done correctly

Weird periods aren't uncommon. I have an idea IF you arent preggers WOMAN, GET AN IUD! Good luck, etc... hope you have a nice husband. In Japan, they just drown women who have 3 kids and get pregnant. Ok I was lying, they don't but 3 is enough! What are you..... ROSE KENNEDY?

These otc tests are not 100% so I would get in to see the doctor in case you need prenatal care. Best of luck to you and yours, no matter how many of them you have!

Go see the doctor,
Anything is possible, and your hormones could be out of wack with giving birth so many times.
Best of luck to ya!

Doesn't sound complicated to me. You might be pregnant. Wait another week and retest.

Try birth control next time.

You can miss your period for a number of reasons (eg. poor health, stress, drugs), don't be too stressed about it.
