In 1977, the Super Bowl was held in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, which is close to Los Angeles, where the Dodgers lost to the Yankees in the World Series that fall.
In 1998, the Super Bowl was held in Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego (formerly Jack Murphy Stadium). That fall the San Diego Padres made the World Series, losing to the New York Yankees.
This year, with Detroit having hosted the Super Bowl at Ford Field, it is now possible that the Motor City will host the World Series as well, with the Tigers now up 2-0 on the A's.

In the year of 1991, the Metrodome in Minneapolis hosted the Super Bowl and the World Series.
In addition, the 1991 NHL finals were held at the Met Center in Minnesota and the 1992 NCAA Final Four was held at the Metrodome.

Yes, there has been but I can't think of when that happened. When it did, I remember thinking exactly that. I guess it wasn't such a memorable thing.
